A Comment On Politics

It

doesn’t matter your political leanings; left, right or middle ground – your politicians are all (mostly) humans with the same failings.

Frustrated by their behavior, I was prompted to put pen to tablet.

So, here’s my little ditty:

Of Pigs in trough, the fetid stench
of Politicks who sit at bench
Making laws that no-one needs
greedily their fortunes feed.

Bagging out all those who care
for spoils of wealth they wish to share
So rarely do they think to ask
what laws we’d really like to pass

As years roll by to no great change
just voting rules they rearrange
to keep the other side at bay
lest cushy jobs are took away

I wonder why we pay these fools
to merely juggle all the rules
whilst holding power to help us all
but really doing nowt at all.

So, when it comes your time to poll,
take good measure and count the toll
of what the member does for you
and the greater good to name a few.

And if the sum is less than nought
kick him out and stop the rort.

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me.

I started this blog as a place to share my new found passion for penning rhymes. To me they are not yet worthy of the title “poems”, hence the blog title – Broken Rhymes.

It doesn’t matter if they’re not that good, I’m just having fun. If you like them, tell me and tell others. If you don’t, then that’s OK too.

So, here we go.

I happened upon a post on Instagram from @andycpugh about a freshly made Apple and Blackeberry Crumble and could not help but think about how hot it would be straight out of the oven:

Aroma sweet from stove arise

Forewarns a multitude of pies.

But impulsive taste of what you yearn

Will simply lead to third degree burns!
